Mill Girl: My Story

by Sue Reid

In the spring of 1842, Eliza’s world is turned upside down when she’s sent to toil in the harsh, airless cotton mills of Manchester. The work is exhausting and perilous, and as she witnesses her friends suffering from illness, poverty, and unrest, Eliza knows she must find a way to break free — before she, too, is trapped by the life of a mill girl.
