The Golden Horsemen of Baghdad

by Saviour Pirotta

Thirteen-year-old Jabir travels to Baghdad in search of work to save his family from homelessness. But hunger drives him to steal bread, and he ends up in prison. His luck turns when a guard discovers his talent for carving, and he’s released on the orders of Caliph Harun al-Rashid.

Now Jabir must create twelve golden horsemen—a royal gift for Emperor Charlemagne. But someone is determined to sabotage the project and will stop at nothing. Can Jabir and his friend Yasmina finish the masterpiece in time, or will he end up back behind bars?
