Amazing Grace

by Mary Hoffman

Grace adores acting out stories — from daring pirates to famous explorers — and no role is too big for her imagination. So when her class puts on a play of Peter Pan, Grace knows exactly who she wants to be. But some classmates say she can’t — Peter’s a boy, and he wasn’t black. Grace’s Ma and Nana know better. With their encouragement, Grace sets out to prove that with determination and a little imagination, she can be anything she wants to be.
