The Final Year

by Matt Goodfellow

Nate has a tough life, living with his mum who drinks a lot and helping to bring up his two younger brothers. When he and his best mate are split up at school, his teacher takes the time to help him process his thoughts and manage his anger through the tough times. Nate loves reading and is a brilliant poet and his teacher encourages him to write his emotions down in verse. Tragedy hits when one of his brothers falls very ill – how will he cope if his brother doesn’t survive?
