Swimming Against The Storm

by Jess Butterworth

Twelve-year-old Eliza and her sister Avery have spent their lives in a quiet Louisiana fishing village, surrounded by wildlife and water. But as sea levels rise, their beloved home is in danger of disappearing.

To save it, the sisters venture into the swamp in search of the legendary loup-garou—a fierce, wolf-like creature no one’s ever proven exists. If they can find it, they believe the government will protect the land.

But with a storm closing in and the swamp growing more treacherous by the hour, the girls soon realize they’re not just fighting for their home—they’re fighting to survive.
