Into the Forest

by Anthony Browne

One stormy night, a boy is woken by thunder—and by morning, his father is gone. When Mum sends him to deliver a cake to his sick grandma, she warns, “Don’t go into the forest. Take the long way.”

But the boy chooses the forest path, where he encounters a host of familiar fairy tale characters—and begins a journey that’s both magical and deeply personal.
