Running on the Roof of the World

by Jess Butterworth

Life in occupied Tibet means following strict rules—but when a man sets himself on fire in protest and Tash’s parents are taken by soldiers, everything changes. Tash and her best friend Sam know they must act, even if it means breaking every rule they’ve ever followed.

With a backpack full of her father’s secret papers and two loyal yaks, they set off on a dangerous journey across the mountains, determined to reach India—and the Dalai Lama himself—for help.
